With the aid of the tiny faeries, a glaistig, and boy who can re-create the world almost as quickly as the queen breaks it, Ivy might save her home, her friends, and even her mother. Readers will be pleased. Thelma also has a bit of a bite to her, and Irial is a morally gray character. The resulting conflict delivers all the magic, intrigue, and romance that Marrs fans expect. I love it so far because I love the intrigue between the courts, and this book has plenty. So, when Ivy arrives and whisks him off to a magical land, Jack isn't sure whether to be terrified or grateful that someone thinks he's special. Cold Iron Heart by Melissa Marr This is a prequel to Wicked Lovely and tells the story of The Dark King pursuing the affections of a Sighted Mortal named Thelma Foy. His stories are the only way he can convince the villagers to stop and spend time at his side. He just wants a friend, a family, someone who listens. Jack Merry has no idea that the creatures in his stories are real. Now, Ivy brings him to the Land of Faery to enlist his help. Since time passes differently in her world, the baby she once saved is a grown boy who can help her save her home. When Ivy rescued a baby from the Wild Hunt, she had no idea that he would change the world. As the queen's madness grows, the land shifts in dangerous, hostile ways.
